Reclaim your vitality at the midlife threshold

It might not feel like it right now, (we know!), but something profound is happening in you.
The body you’ve known for decades is (yet again) reorganizing itself at a level you can feel but can’t quite figure out.
Energy that has moved outward through your monthly cycle for decades, begins its great inward turn.
The body is communicating. It’s asking for a different quality of attention, a different kind of nourishment and a guide who speaks its language.
For centuries, traditional cultures around the world have recognized the midlife transition as one of the most significant initiatory passages in a female bodied person’s life. At Know Thy Medicine, we align ourselves with that wisdom with care that is whole.
We bring together clinical herbalism, nutritional therapy, bodywork and ceremony as powerful complements to your primary care.

A VITALIST APPROACH
WHAT WE BELIEVE
*There are virtues which the midlife transition, (when leveraged), can allow us to alchemize. Virtues such as:
*Perimenopause and menopause are medical terms that, while an important piece, do not encompass the fullness of this transition.
*This shift is natural and it is a recalibration.
*The transition is a liminal time in ones life.
*The midlife transition is a significant initiatory passage in a female life, not despite its difficulty, but because of it. The body does not reorganize this deeply without reason. The vital force does not disrupt decades of accumulated patterns without purpose. What is happening in the body right now is intelligent. It is purposeful.
*Females at this threshold deserve care that is whole, where plant medicine, indigenous wisdom and bodywork sit at the same table as biomedical options. Not instead of. Alongside.
*That plants are the OG guides to come alongside females as they cross this threshold.
WHAT WE KNOW TO BE TRUE (that you might not have heard before)
*The womb does not retire when it stops bleeding. Even after the cessation of our cycle, the pelvic bowl remains the energetic center of the body. The uterine vessel that connects the womb to the Heart does not close. The vital force that was expressed outward through the monthly cycle now turns inward and upward toward the Heart and the brain. The womb recalibrates its energy.
*Perimenopause symptoms are one of the body’s languages which, when we listen, are giving us insight on how to respond. The symptoms that arise most intensely at the midlife transition are often the body’s first opportunity to heal what has been present for awhile.
*A female in transition is one of the most powerful forces on the planet. The process can be messy. It can be painful. It can test every part of who they are. We’re not going to pretend this is all “goddess circles and herbal tea.“ The midlife transition can be brutal. And we’re here for all of it. We acknowledge the strength required to move through transformation.
WHAT WE ARE NOT
*We are not just an herbal version of menopause symptom care. We’re the strange ones who believe in including wonder, curiosity, mystery, excitement, feral and freeing aspects of this wild ride!
*We are not "anti-HRT" or anti-medication. Rather, we are trained in helping you navigate HRT decisions and other treatment options, and in designing advocacy plans so you can have informed conversations with your healthcare providers. We are one part of an entire community that cares for women in perimenopause, both in Sandpoint and online. Our goal is to link arms, collaborate, and help fill gaps in care.
*We don’t see menopause as a disease to be cured. We believe in providing females with the right support.

Midlife transition can bring intense symptoms that feel overwhelming. This package is not about “this for that” herbal substitutions; it is a deep-dive collaboration to address the root causes of your discomfort and find a sustainable path forward.
What's Included:
• Root-Cause Investigation: We begin by identifying and removing the specific stressors—environmental, dietary, and emotional—that are exacerbating your symptoms.
• Lifestyle Strategizing: Together, we will build a lifestyle support plan that fits your reality, focusing on intentional conditioning to help your body adapt to its new hormonal landscape.
• Collaborative Herbalism: Rather than receiving a generic prescription, we will work together to find your “specific plant path.” This is a process of matching your unique constitution with the soul and will forces of the plants that can best relieve the intensity you are experiencing.
• Intensity Relief: Our goal is to move you from a state of “reacting” to your symptoms to a state of “responding” with clarity and ease, using plant medicine as a bridge to stability.

We use a framework that recognizes that lasting wellness emerges when we nourish not just the body but the whole person. Drawing on the work of traditional practices, wisdom and the intelligence of the plant world, we work with herbs that address the dimensions of the human experience.
We are trained in vitalist herbalism, where we follow the
“vital force”.
In TCM this might be similar to Qi.
In Ayurveda, it is similar to Prana.
In Maya healing, it is similar to Chu’Lel
Each tradition understands this life force through its own unique lens.
They are not interchangeable, yet they all invite us to remember that health is more than the absence of disease, it's the cultivation of the vital current that moves through us, connects us to the living world and supports our ability to adapt, recover and thrive.
I’m Sandi Nizzoli, and I believe your body has an innate capacity for vitality.
My work is born from a deep belief that the body has an innate capacity to work out of its vital force and that nature provides the most powerful tools to support that journey. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and Clinical Herbalist, I have worked with hundreds of people in midlife, helping them navigate the complex challenges we face in this phase of life.
My approach is both clinical and spiritual. I am trained to understand the intricate biochemistry of the body, but I also honor the soul’s journey and the profound relationship we can have with the plant world. I serve as a guide and a bridge, helping you understand the language of your body and connect with the healing intelligence of herbs.
I founded Know Thy Medicine to offer a level of care I saw was missing: a service that is deeply personalized, scientifically grounded and completely supportive. My goal is to remove the overwhelm so you can focus on what truly matters, an empowered transition.
My Credentials & Education
I bring a rigorous clinical foundation to our work together, layered with deep apprenticeship and specialized training in women’s health:
• Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) – Nutritional Therapy Association
• Clinical Herbalist – Herbal Wisdom Institute & Apprenticeship at Tendril Apothecary
• Functional Hormone Specialist – International Association for Functional Hormones
• Women’s Integrative Medicine Institute Certified Practitioner (WIMI-CP), Dr. Aviva Romm
• Evolutionary Herbalism – Vitalist Practitioner Course Completion
• Current Studies – Heartwood Education, UK (Foundations)

A: Not at all! I work with clients virtually across the country. Consultations are held via Zoom and all products are shipped directly to your home.
A: This is a critical part of our initial consultation. I am trained in herb-drug interactions and will create a protocol that is safe and complementary to your current healthcare plan, always working with the utmost care and respect for your medical needs. In addition it is important to note that NTP’s and Herbalists are part of your overall healthcare team, not a replacement for PCP, rather, complimentary to.
A: Because each body responds differently, changes can emerge in different ways and at different paces. Some people notice early shifts in energy, digestion, sleep or mood, while for others the changes are quieter and build over time. Sustainable, meaningful change is typically the result of steady, longer-term support rather than quick fixes. Ideally, Herbalism becomes a lifelong commitment and therefore a slow deep process.
A: The package price is for my clinical service fee. The cost of herbs and supplements is separate, as it is 100% customized to you. I will present you with an itemized list for your approval before any purchases are made. The Concierge Plus tier includes a $50 credit to get you started.
A: This is a common concern! We have many options, from tinctures and capsules to teas and powders. We will find a method that works for you. Your comfort and consistency are my top priorities. That being said, learning to adapt our pallets is part of an herbal path and will be something that we can work together towards.
